The Metal Building Contractors and Erectors Association (MBCEA)
formerly System Builders Association is a trade association organized in 1968 to provide programs and services to the contractor segment of the metal building systems industry. The association proudly boasts membership from virtually every aspect of the systems building industry. The
MBCEA is a membership-driven association, promoting the professionalism of its contractor and erector members. The association relies on the input and feedback of its members to create and deliver programs of real value. It is the only trade association organized for the single purpose to provide for the professional advancement of metal construction contractors.
Contractor Membership is open to any building contractor proprietorship, partnership or corporation which has been engaged in the business of marketing metal building systems; and/or metal roofing systems; and/or the contract erection of metal building systems, and/or metal roofing systems, for at least one year. In the case of new firms, one of the principles must possess two or more years experience at the management level of a building contractor firm, or appropriate equivalent experience.
Certification is important to our industry. To be recognized as the finest in
one's profession is the ultimate goal of those who strive to be the very best. The SBA 2000 Certification Program spotlights special companies within the systems building industry that stand above all others. The program permits contractors who have obtained significant knowledge and experience, and who have maintained a reputation for honesty and quality performance, to hold themselves out to the public as having the qualifications of a contractor specialist in the metal building industry.
In today's competitive environment, a contracting firm needs all the advantages it can muster. The
MBCEA 2000 Certification Program provides companies with superb marketing enhancement.
Why should Evans Building Company, Inc. be selected instead of another? To the customer or client, quality is crucial. The
MBCEA 2000 Certification Program identifies contractors who have gained a reputation for providing quality performance. Combined with other certification programs such as the product certification program of the Metal Building Manufacturers Association, the
MBCEA 2000 Certification Program will appeal to architects, construction specifiers, corporate building planners, municipal planning boards and various code bodies.
The Certification program has recently been significantly enhanced.
MBCEA has developed six specific areas to determine certification: Safety Policies, Training Programs, Financial Information, Letters of Recommendation/Reference, Licensing and Insurance and Continuing Education requirements. This has added substantial value to the program and enabled certified contractors and erectors to be recognized as the industry's best. This should ultimately bring about positive change in industry quality and recognition.
MBCEA Building of the Year. The association's annual Building of the Year Awards Program is a membership highlight for many contractors and erectors. These prestigious awards are proudly displayed on the walls of
MBCEA members to help promote professionalism, pride and meaningful competition. This is a member service, and there is not an entry fee.
Evans Building Co., Inc. was the first Contractor Member in Kansas. John Evans, the founder of Evans Building Co., Inc., was a co-founder of the Wichita, Kansas Chapter for SBA, Kansas Systems Builders Association (KSBA).
